Worst Timing Ever

So, I'm playing a 10.00 tourney...I've been heads up with this guy for like 45 minutes..and I finally take the lead on him. The chip count is about 10,000 to 5,000....and thennnnn...my connection goes dead....for about 5 minutes. When I return, Shane informs me that 5 minutes was just enough time for this guy to buy my blinds and win the whole thing. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I've still placed in 6 straight tourneys though....so, at least it didn't kill my streak.

These 3 hands illustrate something: I am becoming (or am just realizing I have always been) a bad poker player. Let's skip the first hand and move to the second. Why do I slowplay the flop and turn only to raise on the river when I have let the enemy draw out? Could I have played this hand worse?

Now, the 1st hand I dont think I would've played any differently. AK limped and let me bet into him. I played into his hands and would do the same every single time. I am not upset about that hand. However, that hand led me to the 3rd hand listed. I played angry. I allowed a big loss to upset me into playing stupid. Extremely stupid. I suck. I should cash out. See you around. Maybe.

ITM 6/10 and a First Place This Time

Most insane SNG I have ever seen. In the first round the guy who would become the big stack knocked out 1/3 of the table - two players on the same hand. By round THREE we were down to four players. At this point I picked up some chips when I slow played my flopped nut straight (when the tight player calls you after the flop, again on the turn and then goes all in after you bet on the river you are BEAT. Though I am glad you called. Wake up and smell the nuts you chowder head!) That was the maybe the fifth hand I had played where I wasn't the BB.

We got down to three and I took the lead from the big stack when he raised all-in against me preflop holding 99 and I had 10-10. I thought it was kind of a donkey play on his part considering that the blinds were still small and he could have found out where he stood by raising 5xBB and that I probably would have laid down most hands there that were not at least a race against 99.

The lead went back and forth for awhile between the three of us. One guy gets his Cowboys cracked by the former big stack's 44 and we finally have a true short stack. Then comes the moment I am most proud of.

Obvious reasons to fold: Flush draw is very possible/likely calling hand on the flop, and the tourney just started so the blinds are small and I can get away to fight another pot, and I don't know if this guy's an idiot or not.

So he had an overpair plus an outside straight draw. 10 outs. Only a small dog after the flop. I did well to have my hand hold up, but now I'm nicely up at the table.

Next hand I have A3 in the small blind. I call (well, I do have good odds for 15 cents). Flop is J42 rainbow. Checked around. Turn is a 5. I manage to win $6 from a guy who thinks his pocket 6s may still be good if I'm betting the 5.

From about $15 to $50 in 3 hands. Sweet.

I figured I needed a distraction...

So I sat down at a 60 cent sitngo at Absolute and placed second. At one point I went all in for my last 350 chips with A9o and got two callers. I tripled up with...... Ace high! Then I caught cowboys a few times and our bubble boy went on tilt so I was suddenly INM. I had a big enough stack to wait for good cards and I busted the other small stack. Got all in against the Big stack with 88 and he drew out against me with his Q10. I am now 5/9 for INM since I started keeping track again.

It's the guy who hits his inside straight draw...

I had the implied odds to make this call, right? Right? (Feel free to comment on the virtue or lack thereof of the lead out bet on the flop, too).
